At 0800 Asbestos we pride ourselves on producing accurate and valuable asbestos risk assessments in Somerset with a certified result provided in 2 days. We are one of the UK’s fastest providers of asbestos risk assessments. If you think your property might have signs of asbestos, it is vital for your safety that a survey is carried out as soon as possible. An asbestos survey will identify if there are Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) within the premises and we can design an effective Asbestos Management report that will give you fast and professional advice.
With more than 25 years of experience in asbestos risk assessments, you can rely on us to do the job quickly and efficiently, at a reasonable cost. Our Lead Surveyor is one of the most qualified professionals in the industry. He is qualified to BOHS P402, P403 & P404 standards. Under his meticulous attention to detail, he undertakes regular audits to ensure all our surveyors comply with our stringent standards at all times and insists they have a minimum of 10 years’ experience and BOHS P402 certification.
Our Asbestos Management software is specifically designed to bring together all the functions of an asbestos consultancy into a single end-to-end solution. This includes initial enquiries, appointments and quotes through to asbestos report production and asbestos register generation.
Each surveyor is equipped with the latest Windows tablet PC to build our asbestos reports. It gives them access to the details of the job and the opportunity to take photographs of all the relevant areas to build a thorough and accurate floor/building plan during the investigation. The plans can then be used to analyse the premises, providing sample locations via the table and on-site.
Once the investigation is complete, the plans are sent immediately to the office and automatically inserted into reports where required. Whilst the reports are being processed, the samples collected by the surveyor are “checked out” to our external UKAS accredited labs.
Once received by a lab, the samples are downloaded and “checked in” and the job updated. This ensures that 0800 Asbestos can provide the highest quality service at the best value for money. After the sample results are available, we are then able to establish whether the material contains asbestos and if so, what type. There are three main types of asbestos – Chrysotile, Amosite and Crocidolite. They are usually called white, brown and blue asbestos respectively.
Blue and brown asbestos (the two most dangerous forms) have not been imported into the UK since 1985. White asbestos was banned in 1999.
